Newton Flotman Pre-School, is situated in the Village Centre of Newton Flotman, surrounded by playing fields, with ample space for parking. We can be easily found just off the A140.
We are a well established community pre-school, registered with Ofsted.
The pre-school is open to all 2-4 year olds and follows the Early Years Foundations Stage Curriculum. We have weekly themes but plan through observations of the children, basing our planning on the children’s own interests. We have access to a fantastic outside area.
Our ratio of adults to children is a minimum of 1:4 for children under three and 1:8 for children under five years old.
Each child will be allocated a key worker, who will make regular observations of the children in their care and this will be the basis of planning for their future activities. We use tapestry to record these observations in an online learning journal which you can use to follow and contribute to your child’s progress and development.
We encourage parents to come in for regular stay and play sessions. Parents and carers can stay for the first hour of any session throughout the stay and play week. It is a great time for families to get to know the team and an opportunity to discuss your child’s progress with your key worker.
Healthy snacks will be provided to your child throughout the morning, plus a supply of fresh drinking water and milk to drink at any time, which is included in your session rate. You can also supply your child with extra drink in a named container (no fizzy drinks please).
Newton Flotman has a non compulsory uniform. If you would like your child to wear the uniform it can purchased directly from any of the pre-school team.
We welcome children that are not yet toilet trained.
