We are a small and friendly team. All the team have relevant qualifications and experience on top of a love for their work. The team are encouraged to continue with their professional development, dependent on their previous experience and current needs of the children.
All staff have had recent safeguarding training and there is always, at least, two first aiders present.
Janice Cooper – Leading childcare practitioner – Pre-School Manager
Janice has a diploma in leadership for the children and young people’s workforce – early years (management) level 5.
Janice joined the team in 2020 as Manager and has worked in pre-school management since 2008.
Ria Mickleburgh – Leading childcare practitioner – Pre-School Manager
Ria is currently on maternity leave as we hope to welcome her back in 2021.

Ria joined our team in September 2017.
She has worked with children of ages 0-11 years in nurseries and schools since 2003.

Angela joined us in September 1999 and is married with three Children.
Carla Gilman – Joint deputy childcare practitioner
Child care learning and development NVQ Level 2.

Carla joined us in January 2013 and is married with 3 children.
Sam Allen – Assistant childcare practitioner
Sam has completed the OCN introduction to early years care and education and the NVQ level 2 in childcare learning and development.
Sam joined the team in April 2000, Sam has the role of well-being co-ordinator to support the mental health of the team.
Sam joined us in April 2000, she has one daughter.
Sinead Sheffield – Assistant childcare practitioner
Working towards her level 2 city and guilds diploma certificate for the children and young people’s workforce (QCF).
Sinead is married with 4 children.
Emily Sims – Assistant childcare practitioner
Emily has gained the level 2 certificate for the children and young people’s workforce and is looking forward to working towards a level 3 qualification.
Emily joined the team in 2016 and has an interest in working with children with special educational needs.
A committee of volunteers are also responsible for the running of the pre-school, alongside the pre-school manager. The pre-school is a charitable organisation and the committee of trustees are also responsible for the running of the setting.
